When downtown Edmonton's Valhalla Apartments suffered an internal rupture on their Chiller, the building was completely without Air Conditioning for its residents. Maximum was happy to assist in providing a replacement Carrier Chiller!
This was no easy feat. The chiller was located in a mechanical room located under the building, with the only access being through small man-doors.
Our team devised and executed a plan to disassemble the new chiller and crane each piece down the side of the building along the edge of the river valley. To do this, we needed to structurally support the lifting area and the parkade below by using shoring posts and rig matting. Once the pieces of the chiller were safely in the mechanical room, our team then reassembled the chiller and commissioned it for service.
This project had many moving parts and involved intense, thoughtful planning to ensure a smooth delivery. We covered every detail, from structural engineering of the parkade, logistics, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical scopes, all the way to the last detail of refinishing the floor of the mechanical room.
